The other 3:)

I know it's been a while ... I'm very sorry we've been dealing with opening drama... :) I'll tell you about it later! I finally got the pics of my other three costumes...lololol:)

So you saw the first 2 - the footman and the merchant... Well here we go the 3rd is the Basketball Hoop... yep you read right, B-Ball Hoop - full out no marking, I just need to show you - here:

So what you can't see in this pic ... because i'm behind a pile of things the Grabbing Goblin has grabbed... is that the shoes I'm wearing are HUGE! They're bright orange and about 2 feet long, you know to represent the bass of the Hoop... Hilarity!

This next costume I'm kind of in love with because I feel like a Vegas show girl:) ... all we do in it is Boorey (sp?) across the stage and do a sensible pony during the "Tweedly Dee Tweedly Doo" number -- lolol


See what I mean? It's just cause we have those ridiculous flowers on our heads. I'm on the Left and Shawn is on the right. Oh during this little section of the play we're in the "Flighty Forest" so theres a lot of florescent lighting... and the lightest shade of green on our costumes turns So abrasively bright we look like outer space creatures or something it's pretty funny!

Oh boy ok - So I'm sure I've told you all about this next costume ---


You're probably saying to yourself "What? were is he, don't see his face" well that's because I'm in the Dragon!!! I move the head and blink the eyes while Alissa holds up the ass and flaps the wings... literally she holds up the ass with a harness - she's practically got a New York size loft the back of this thing! lol! So if you look really closely you can see two little mesh holes on the neck of the Dragon - that's all I have to see with! Alissa's on Headset so when we're backing up they can tell us if we're about the run into something (lol) but other than that I can't see a dam thing! Also see that little indent in the neck ... that's my arm - my head is all the way up the shaft of the neck, and the body of Mr. D sits on my shoulders. Now I must say that as much as I hate getting in my condom costume... (that's what I call it because I feel like I'm diving into a felt condom) It's all worth it hearing the kids reaction to us!

S0 there you go thanks for coming to my costume parade - I've decided I'm going to change my title from Actor to a Professional Changer because all we do is change clothes for a living:) I'm just joking I like the clothes so it's all good:)

Oh - this is also kind of amazing, I was talking to the Costume Designer Camille Assaf, she's amazingly talented and a great person with an amazing accent! Anyway, the other day I asked her how she went about costuming this show, because making humans look like animals but still having them be able to Dance and have complete mobility is quite a daunting task you know! She told me she took each Backyardigan ...

And supper imposed them other this...

Isn't she Brilliant ... who thinks like that! I thought it was so interesting!!!

Well theres defiantly more to come! We leave York PA today and head to Battle Creek MI (oh laurdy)

The Cast!

So I think it's time to introduces the cast ... This pic was taken when we recorded some songs for the show. Isn't it cute?:)


Going from Left to Right.
* Me... you know who I am - clearly.
* Alissa Alter - I talked about her in blog 1.
* The 3rd person in red is Jarvis B. Manning, Jr. he's the male swing and is hilarious - just can't handle it!
* Walter Kemp the II is just fierce, there's no other way to explain it! He plays Tyrone ... the Orange Moose!
* Looking brilliant in Purple is the Flightly Flairy, AKA Tasha, AKA the Yellow Dancing Hippo. Her name is Laura Catlaw!
* Next to Mis T. is Creighton Fraker, a purple kangaroo, named Austen, who turns into the Grabbing Goblin... he's going to weigh 5 pounds when we're done with the tour - all he does is jump around the stage!
* Now Kandace Nunn - she plays Uniqua! Brilliant! Everything she does, you just want to bottle her up and take her home - it's just too much! I can't handle it!
* Then we have Laraisha Burnette, she's the female swing - Just so talented! She can sing anything her voice is ridiculous!
* And last but most defiantly not least is Shawn Shafner he is Hilarity as King Pablo, the yellow and blue Penguin.

So when ever you get confused at to who I keep talking about, reference this! ... so far everyone is getting along really well I think this is going to be a really good year:)

Just a little quick update as to how things are going. We finished teching today, and did our first run through... it was so ruff, but by the time opening comes on the 28th we'll be so good and ready that they'll be hand delivering the Tony that night! I feel it:)

A Great Start!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to my blog! As most of you know I'm on tour with the world renown, absolutely riveting, Life changing, thought provoking show called The Backyardigans live... with Nick Jr. -- the things we do for a paycheck right! No seriously it's going to be really fun! The people are great! And the thing that I'm most excited about is the costumes...lol (We'll get to that later)

Oh - before I start this, must of you know that I am horrible at spelling/grammar... you put anything craft wise or art related in front of me I'm golden! But ask me to spell or add... I laugh in your face! Whatever the the spell check says it always right! Just sound it out it's not right... lololol

So we rehearsed in NY for the about 10 days then came to York PA on Tuesday the 18th ... Now when you have a 3 hour bus ride what do most people do? Sleep right? Well just like everyone ells on the bus, I fell asleep - like 5 minutes into the ride! Well - I work up like this ...

Full out no marking, just a huge kink in my neck... I couldn't move it and it hurt like a !@#&^$! ... My roommate Alissa (you'll see her in a second:) said that she would massage it for me before we went to bed. So I hoped in the shower to clean myself up and when I came out she was sound asleep, snoring... lol we're already like an old married couple I love it! So that night I made myself a little cocoon out of pillows so my head wouldn't move in the middle of night! It's all better now but for a while it was real ruff!

It hasn't been all pain and suffering! like I said earlier the costumes are my favorite part! - I feel like I should wait to show you guys these but I can't resist! ... So I have 5 costumes in the show! I'll give you a sneak peek of two of them:) The first is the Footman costume it's stunning!

Isn't it amazing? I love it! Now lady's and and gentlemen, boys and girls here she is; the fabulous, sensible, amazing, brilliant, funny girl, my left hand man, the egg in the show Alissa Alter:


We look like brother and sister it's so funny... So onto costume number 2... Now I feel like this one really accentuates my figure!

So slimming right! I can't handle it! This is for the merchant! lolololol
