"B - Reel"

We just realized yesterday that this was on youtube. It's our "B - Reel" ... I have no clue what that means, but this what is sent to TV stations when we go to interviews and stuff... it's pretty funny:)

... lololol :)

The Windy City!

On our way to Pittsburgh, PA we got to stop and have a day in Chicago IL. Alissa and I had an adventure! We probably walked a marathon! My legs/feet have never hurt so bad...

We were staying in Rosemont, IL so we had to take the train in to the city!

I feel like we should be on the LIRR going to the Hamptons:) Once we got downtown, clearly we ate! Then got a map from the information center too aid us with our 1 day journey in Chicago. Our first stop was the Sears Tower...

This is one of my favorite pics from the top. Now, Alissa is the one who suggested we go, we pay the $17, go through this long maze with pics of the building and stuff. Then we get escorted into this theater were we watch a short film made by the History Channel on the Sears Tower and how for a while it was the tallest building in the world ... blahblahblah! All through this movie I was sitting there thinking how Ironic it was that the windiest city in America held the tallest building in the world for a little bit, it just doesn't sound safe to me!

Oh, but so we get all the way up to the top and Alissa starts to have an anxiety attack, apparently she forgot she was afraid of heights, couldn't even go to the window. She just circled the elevator, looking from a distance. Her palms were all clammy it was funny! So our time up there was a little short lived but it was still really cool!

Now with a relaxed clammy palm, Al (I'm just going to call her Al. because I don't want to type Alissa anymore... I type her name wrong every time, I don't know why) & I ventured off to Navy Piers, But got sidetracked on the way:) We fount the Art Institute of Chicago... It homes the original painting of "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" By Georges Seurat:

The original is huge! We found out that he did it in three installments, The first was the basic painting with shading and solids. The second, he used pointillism in contrasting colors, and then the third he re stretched the canvas to make a border... basically it's stunning! We sat there for 30 minutes just starring at it, the more you gazed the more you would notice. We had to make our selfs leave... we have the whole rest of Chicago to see, we couldn't spend the rest of the day starring at painting!

Then we stumbled upon Millennium park... This was my favorite part of the day! There were so many things that could entertain me for hours:)

I stole this pic from someone else's blog... It's called the Clown Fountain, and what's happening in the pic is what it does; people's faces are on the big tower and water comes out of there mouth... it's so entertaining, I love it! Then we found the Bean ... It's actually called Cloud Gate on the AT&T Plaza;

Al and I got really carried away with pics of this thing, we took like 15... here are a few:

That one is taken from the center of the Bean... These were taken on the side of it...

See what happens when you put actors in front of a mirror - it's a lot to deal with, I know:) So after that, We got really lost, we found our selfs in the middle of rich residential downtown area, we asked like 5 people how to get to Navy Piers & in the proses of trying to get there, this really annoying family decided they would tag along. We were like "is this really happening?" But finally we found it:

It was so cute! In the middle of the Pier is a Stain Glass museum ... lol so random! But thanks to N.P. I've found my new dance head shot, or commercial for that matter;

I feel like it frames my physique really well:) Now this one is Al. to a tee. She truly does have a really long torso so it's perfect!

After a couple different photo shoots, that I won't bore you with, we took the free trolley to the "Magnificent Mile!" It's basically like 5th avenue ... A whole bunch of overly priced stores that only the elite of Chicago can shop at. We went into Nordstrom and nobody even bothered asking me if I needed anything... I guess my jeans and zip up gave my class status away.

---

After being ignored we ventured up to homo land, otherwise known as "Boys Town!" What brought us there was the originator of Musical Mondays, a bar called Side Tracks! I need to backtrack a bit! In Chelsea there's a bar called Splash were every Monday they have a thing called "Musical Mondays" It's basically a time for homos to unite and sing along to there favorite diva or leading man, it's a beautiful thing:) So of course we couldn't pass up the opportunity:) ... It was ok... In NY there's a dance floor, Marty Thomas Singing, everyone mingling, talking... at Side Tracks I felt like we couldn't talk, or sing for that matter. All attention was to be turned toward the screen! There was big group of us there and of course we were singing along. We kept getting looks from the people around us... but at the same time they kept asking us what musical the clip was from... regardless, it was a lovely caper to the marathon of a day!

Now we're in Pittsburgh PA, quite a lovely town! I get to see Jonny in Baltimore, our next city, I can't wait!!!

I love you all! Talk to you later:)

Iowa Restruants...

We're in Cedar Falls Iowa right now. The only thing around the hotel is chain/fast food restaurants, there's nothing to do here!!!

This morning we ate at the VILLAGE IN. The first time in 2 weeks that we've had breakfast! And let me tell you this is one thing that I've had a really hard time with! I love a bacon egg and cheese bagel, In NY you can get it on any street corner at anytime of the day! I'm having withdrawal! The VILLAGE IN Answered my prayers!!!! You don't realize how much you love something until it's not available after 11AM:)

After that it went down hill and it went fast! We finished the show Just famished! With plans of going to The TEXAS ROADHOUSE! There's 13 of us, our waiter was very nice his name was Andrew he took all of our drink orders, then this women came over to our table, just rude! She must have been the manager, she told us we couldn't have any drinks cause they called last call 5 minutes ago... first of all, we arrived 15 minutes ago, it just took him that long to get all of our drink orders. Second of all she denied herself at least $150 worth of liquor revenue and then an extra $300 in food cause my table of 6 sure did get up and walk out!

It's now 10:10, we're nearing starvation, the hunt was on "Operation, get food in belly" is in full force. WENDY'S right across the street, we run! I'm just so excited for a salad. The inside was closed but the drive through was open. We walk up to the window and ask if we can order via D.T.W. (that stands for Drive Through Window) this is what happens:
  • Lady: "I'm sorry we can only serve you if you have a car."
  • All 6 of us: "What?" "Are you serious?" (murmur, murmur from the crowd)
  • Me: "This is discrimination against homeless people!" (...now, what I meant to say was "car less people" but that's what came out! The look on her face was priceless, it took her a while to proses what I meant)
  • Lady: "I'm sorry there's nothing I can do for you!" (Then she closes the window with this look on her face like we're all uncivilized creatures and starts to lock it. I mean we're actors not Barbarians!)
  • Me: Yeah you lock that window, what's that going to do? You think we're going to attack you or something? We're hungry! Not savages! (Again I don't know what came out of me - it was defiantly my stomach talking!)
We can barely walk at this point! Across the street a little ways down is an ARBY'S. At a closer look we notice someone walking in. It's open! we run! screaming! Ok, we weren't screaming, we got excited, there was hope, this was it we were finally going to be able to eat! We got up to the counter, panting, they guy says, we close at 10:30 order fast! It's 10:17. In a rush I blurt out a #8... which ended up being Popcorn Chicken, Curly fries and a soda ... (lolol) not the healthy Salad that I was planning on having:) They guy was very nice! He stayed open till we all got our food and we on our way.

As we were walking back to the hotel we run into the rest of the group. They had stayed at the Texas Roadkill place and gotten orders to go... So if we had just stayed there we could have avoided all of the running around. Moral of the day - don't let your stomach lead you when you haven't eaten, and have a little more patience when people are rude:)

I love you all! Talk to you later!

I Love Sioux Falls:)

What a good day this has been:) I'm just going to dive right in! Alissa, Sally and I went to lunch at this amazing sandwich place. On the way we found this... of course we had to take a pic with it:)

There were these guys walking by that said "haha, nice picture" in a taunting way - I said "Oh thank you so much! You have a great day ok:)" with a really obnoxious smile...lol Anyway, there were all these really funny statues like this all over the city it made me laugh!

While Alissa was at the doctor Sally and I had a little adventure! We found the falls:) Here it is people the name of witch a riveting city holds, the falls of Sioux:

I know, I was picturing something a little more epic, like Niagara Falls or something but it's still very pretty! They have this cute park called "The Falls Park" (lol) but there's all these lookout areas. You can walk all the way up to the water on the rocks if you want it's all open! We also found some more statues...LOL

Who doesn't like to cuttle with a Bison? I sure do:) Oh this is Sally by the way she's amazing! We love her!

So after that we hoped on the Trolley and rode back into town, Sally had to go to the Grocery to get some food for tomorrow. She cooks dinner for the crew bus when they leave late at night, just because she finishes before everyone else:) ... Anyway the Trolley gave us all this historical information about the town, it told us about historical buildings - I fell asleep... the girls voice kept talking about the brick that they used to make the buildings ... I don't know?

---

After a very sensible nap:) Creighton (Austin, the Grabbing Goblin) is a native of Sioux Falls and he hosted a party at this pizza place that he used to work at growing up... it's called Ranch Pizza or something like that, some of the items on the menu were Taco or a BLT pizza... they tasted pretty good. In the back they had this Game/Arcade room... fun times were had, let me tell you:)

I did really bad at the dirt bike game! But I did beat Alissa on the other motorcycle one - I should get one for real! (don't worry mom I'm joking) I came in 3rd and she came in 8th - lol:)

I look waisted but I promise I wasn't! This game was pretty entertaining ... it's a little Nauseating though, you lay flat and then the screen is right over you.

That's Laura ... We all look drunk, who took these pictures? All we had was Diet Pepsi! The Ice Ball was the worst! You start out with 5,000 points ... the most I got was 9,000 ... let me tell you that is really hard to do! That means I only got 3 out of the 10 balls into the 1,000 point hole(the biggest hole) lololol now you know why I'm an actor:)

This is all of Sally's winnings - she did good! I ended up just giving her the little amount of tickets I got so that she could get a better prize:)

It's a really fetching picture isn't it...lol After that I drove the bus back to the hotel for Pete, cause he was tired!

... I'm just joking he drove don't worry! He said I could drive it once if we're in a place with a lot of room:) could you imagine me behind the wheel of a bus...lol

---

Then, yep the day keeps going, we ended the night with a lovely hot tub/pool party! Tiger and I won 3 out of 4 games of chicken, then Paul (the props master) and I created a wondrous synchronized swimming routine:) it was amazing:)

If anyone can tell me how to download this horror video properly that would be amazing! It's on Alissa's Mac computer, And I need to get it onto my Dell! It wont download to youtube... I'm starting to feel like the task at hand is unattainable!!!

Love you all! Talk to you later:)

Frustration! - Bus

So the movie is done but I can't figure out how to put it on here! It's not downloading to youtube... we have it on a disk but I can't figure out how to save it, from the disk to my computer. I really should have paid attention during computer tech in High School... lol, So as soon as I can get it up I will, I'm sorry for the wait!

----

However, to make up for it I have some pics of the bus... I know it's not as exciting as a horror film but at least it's something:)

This is the view from the door when you first walk in... (That's Alissa on the couch - she hurt her ankle during the egg dance yesterday... not good! She says she'll be fine though) This next one is the coffin situation...

I'm on the top bunk. Now the good thing about it is we each have our own personal DVD players ... but because of the lack of storage ... we have to keep our bags in the coffin with us... so you end up sleeping with your feet elevated all the time because of the stuff that you cram at the back of it.

This is the back lounge... AKA the rump lounge:) lol and then this is the bathroom:

The #1 rule on the bus is no #2... only peepee in that toilet ... all tissue/everything else... gets tossed in a trash can, we keep it Mediterranean style up in here:)

There's hi speed wireless, two big screen TV's, a fridge, microwave, I think that's pretty much it. At first we were mesmerized by the bus... now it's kind of lost it's grandeur - Last night we were going to SD. and we ended up watching 4 movies cause we couldn't think of anything ells to do... lol

---

We left Appleton Wisconsin yesterday and I have to say that I'm quite glad!! Don't get me wrong, the Fox cities performing arts center was amazing, both the Theater and the people that worked there!!! (by far the best dressers we've had thus far!!)

However, the weather - Horrendous... it snowed and did I bring a coat? NO! The last day it was nice but nothing was open because it was a Sunday! Second... and I'm sorry to say this, but the locals - RUDE!!! I heard once that people from Wisconsin had a reputation for being not so nice... Well they held up to that reputation!!! I was getting sass from pretty much everyone... the lady who worked the night shift at the hotel, the bartender kept ignoring us at the bar. The worst was the cab company, oh my loins, just yelling at me for no reason!

We just got to Sioux Falls SD. I hope It's better - I've heard lots of good things about it, so hopefully they'll fulfill their reputation as well:)

I'm sorry about this movie:( as soon as I figure it out it will be up! love you all - talk to you later!

Going and Going.

Do you ever feel like you don't have time to even take a breath and enjoy something... like you're just running, with no purpose, no direction. You're just grabbing on to whatever you can to ground you. If you take one second to stop and look at a cherry blossom or an interesting cloud the train will leave you stranded in the dust... I feel like this pic is a representation of that feeling:

Hahahaha - sometimes I crack my self up! See what happens when you give actors some free time ... we get outrageous! lol This was taken in Paducah KY there was this random 3 car train right outside of the theater that we had to have a photo shoot in front of - here are some other pics from our session:

Everyone loves a sensible back bend right? :)

-----

Hot off the press ladies and gentlemen we have the first of many press photos... I just got an e-mail from Amy Gentry our marketing director, she's an AMDA alum and a lovely lady, just to give you a little background on her... lol

Don't you just want to hug them!!!

As obnoxious as that dragon is, I have to say he's pretty cute.

I look so jaundice in that pic - now I know why Camille (costume director) kept telling me to put more blush on:) Press wise we're getting a real and everything so as soon and I get that and more pics I'll put them up!

Just an update with our horror movie ... it's done! Now we just have to edit it, make a trailer for it and then it will be ready to sent to Miramax films:)

Also if y'all haven't seen Planet Earth I highly recommend it!!! I purchased the 5 disk set and I love it, it really gives you an appreciation for what's around us! This is a pic from some of the footage that they got...

Ok, so on that note, love you all, Talk to you later:)

A surprisingly Joyous day:)

Out of all the places that we're going to on this tour, Flint has been tagged as the worst on the list! I would have to disagree! We were quite surprised at how much fun we had today!

Alissa woke me up this morning at 8:30 just as chipper as could be... I was like "Really - GO BACK TO BED!!!" but of course she didn't. She made do her Jillian Michaels work out video, you know the girl from Biggest looser:

We call her Jill's for short, and let me tell you, 5 minutes into the video and you're ready to kill little miss Jill's:) She does not become your best friend... We found our selfs calling her names that weren't so nice towards the end... lol

Then we went to the Flint museum... they were having an exhibit of all of M. C. Escher's work, witch is amazing!!! He took us back to an advanced geometry class... I went with Shawn, Creighton and Alissa and we stood in front of each painting for about 3 minutes trying to figure it out! ... give me a script and I'm fine, but ask me to decipher an Escher and I laugh if your face:) Just in case your confused heres one of his paintings... can you even call it that - masterpieces!

They also had an exhibit... that I can't remember what it's called or the Artist's name that did it... however it was brilliant! What he did is take, for example an Andy Warhol painting, recreate the painting exactly and then do a picture of him over it ... like so:

Isn't the pic amazing ... and isn't Andy Warhol scary looking... lol this is another one that I love because I pictured him to look just like this:

It's Salvidor Dali.... lol funny right! I have never seen a pic of him but he totally fits the aura of his paintings...

This is another one that I thought was amazing:

I have no clue who did this... its a sculpture, not a painting! It's only about 5 inches wide, but the length of his face is to scale. He even has stubble on his chin... the attention to detail is ridiculous! I stood there staring at him for like 8 minutes - I couldn't look away!

After we left the museum we went to a Farmers Market that was right across the street from the Hotel... this too was surprisingly fun! I ended up getting this dip called, and I quote "Slap ya' Mama" No joke - this lady makes it by hand ... it's to die for! She gave us her personal number so that we can order direct from her when we need to replenish our supply for the bus... lol

... yes it keeps going... all of that before noon can you believe it? lol After a delicious lunch at Eddy's Cafe we went to Rehearsal and I learned Pablo's track ... it's pretty fun! Tomorrow I have my first flying rehearsal, I'm not excited about the bruises that I'll acquire in strange places, but it will still be fun.

Also stay tuned because tomorrow the cast is filming a horror movie... lololololol you think I'm joking - nope! The Arena that we're performing at has some really scary rooms we thought we had to take advantage of! We only have 3 hours to do it so we'll see how it turns out. Jarvis and I have plotted out the entire thing tonight. I can smell the Oscar it's going to be brilliant... lolololol I'll post it once it's done, don't worry:)

Ok Love you all - Talk to you later:)

Catch up

There are a few things that I want to tell you guys but keep forgetting:

Opening day-

So we were scheduled to do two shows that day, our final dress at 2 and then our big opening at 7... the 2 O'clock show is going great we get all the way to Dragon Mountain (the last scene) and all of a sudden I hear this very strange noise. For a second I thought it was the sound guy being funny, but then I realized it was the FIRE ALARM... and yes, Alissa and I are trapped in the Dragon! We can't get out of this thing by our selfs, they're snaps on the bottom that we can't reach... We just start screaming - "Hello? can someone help us here? HELLO?" they had totally forgotten about us!!! I look around through my two little mesh patches - the stage is empty! I thought is this for real?

Luckily there was no fire, our smoke machines had set off the alarm. We still had to evacuate the building though. It was so funny, the theater we were at was a collage and the people that were going to class were giving us the weirdest looks I don't really know why I mean isn't this a normal going to school outfit?

:) The show that night was so good! It changed everything having an audience of 900 screaming kids!!! we got so used have bitter and jaded New Yorkers, acting like kids answer our questions. These kids our hilarious, Just so into it! It makes you realize why you singed up to do this, you know:)

---

I have some very classy pictures from the opening night party, that might have been taken after 1 or 2 glasses of whine... the first one is with the creator of the show...LOL she'd probably kill me if she knew this was up, but - whatever:)

Amazing right her name is Janice and she's brilliant! This second one is with one of Alissa and I's BFFL ... the Choreographer of the show, she's been with The Backyardigans for the past 7 years, and she's the reason why I'm on this tour! Beth

And I had to put this one in too because it's a good one her name is Sarah and she works for Broadway Across America, so sweet and funny!

Brilliant right, I love it!

Ok I have to go do a show. Love you all Talk to you later!

Travel Drama!

Well it all worked out in some round about way, I made it to Paducah, KY by 4 o'clock, and got to the theater just in time for a spacing rehearsal / 7PM show... But it was not stress free let me tell you!

Pause. First of all I had a funny experience on my way to the airport ... leaving Battle Creek MI. the cab driver was classic! I arranged a cab to pick me up from our Hotel and take me to the Airport in Kalamazoo. I get in the Cab and the first thing this man says to me, in a very low voice with a touch of some accent that I can't really put my finger on says;

"So a how old are you?"
"Ummm... what why?"
"Well you look like your 16, 17 years old - are you even old enough to fly alone?"
(in my head I'm thinking is this really happening? does he really think I'm that young - you've got to be kidding me!)
"Yes I am old enough to fly alone, I'm 22"
"Oh, well you just never know these days" he says trying to back track "you know when I was your age, girls that were 12 really looked like they were 12, not 30! Now you just get yourself into really awkward situations..."

I did kind of a laugh / cough cause I didn't really know how to respond to that... lol

Now back to getting to Paducah...

So after to the funeral we go home for a hot second, then straight to my Aunt and Uncles house... blah blah blah so it wasn't till 11PM that I get to the airport, Thanks to my cousin Amy... love her!!! She was kind enough to take me:) Everything was on time, I was ready for this epic adventure.

My flight was on time, we board early, there wasn't a fat lady next to me taking up all the room, it was too good to be true and it was! We sat for an hour and a half! the flight was suppose to leave at 12:40AM we didn't leave the gate till 2:30AM... and to top it off the air conditioners only worked when the engines were on... we kept hearing "we're sorry for the delay lady's and gentleman we'll be leaving shortly" so by the time 2:30AM came the 100 people + on the plain gave swamp ass a new meaning:)

I missed my second flight by 3 minutes ... pissed! However it was kind of a blessing in disguise; they put me on a flight that went straight to Memphis then to Paducah witch got me there at the same time ... but skipping the second middle flight... (are you still with me? I'm starting to confuse myself) so all you need to know is I now had 4 hours to kill. Well what should I do, I thought to myself, Hello - sleep ya dummy! I get myself all comfy, I'm having a lovely dream, then KABOW!!! I get elbowed right in the arm-chest;

"What the *%$*!" I say in a half asleep/disoriented voice.
"Are you going to Orlando?" inquires this women next me with a very thick southern accent.
"No I'm going to Memphis"
"Oh, well they just called last call, and I didn't want you to miss your flight. I'm goin to Memphis to, that's so funny - I'm sorry for waking you up. you looked really comfortable too, were you dreaming? you had a smile on your face..."

She just kept talking and talking, told me all about her broken foot! ...needless to say I only got about an hour of sleep. But from then on everything was great - I magically got an exit row seat on the flight to Memphis and the flight to Paducah lasted 20 minutes, the cab driver even let me by with only giving him $21 instead of $30 cause that's all the cash I had:) He said "times are tough man, I'll take what I can get."

So now I'm back with the Crazies...:) we're in W. Lafayette IN. right now - the 3 Paducah shows were great. Creighton was out due to some stomach problems so Jarvas had to go in and lets just say he's been focusing a lot on My/Tyrone's track ... so His Grabbing Goblin was quite humorous! He had no clue what he was doing - but he hid it well, please the kids don't even know whats going on, they were still entertained:)

I'm getting sleepy, love you all goodnight:)

Help me out again!

This is going to be real short cause I have to get to the airport but I wanted to thank you guys for your good thoughts/prayers/energy ... whatever it was it worked - the service was amazing ... I got through I song (through being the operative word) ... everyone was crying at the end, so we were all just having a big old sob fest! But thank you, and now lets do it again! I'm meeting the cast back up in Paduka Kentucky - I leave at 12AM tonight and after 4 flights later I arrive at PAH at 4PM and then have to be at the theatre at 4:30 for a 7PM show ... so the only way this is going to work out is if nothing goes wrong! Again please pray, meditate, do whatever it is that you do that worked for this afternoon:) Thank you all
Hey I found one more pic of my Grandma and Grandpa that I absolutely love!

Ok here we go kids ... oh laurdy!

Change of plans...

I'm not going to beat around the bush - cause I don't really know how to with this subject!
My Grandma Annie passed away the day after my birthday (March 13th) in the middle of the afternoon when she was sleeping. There I said it. When my mom told me that night, I was shocked! Grandpa was the one with Leukemia I thought maybe she got confused ... but she didn't. Grandma Annie left with class though! I would expect nothing less from her that's all she was - class!

lol - now when I say class, I get this image of some obnoxious snob living on the upper east side. This was not grandma she was a different kind of class! The most down to earth lady you could ever meet! Never once did she judge, she had the right answer to everything! She would put you in your place if you were out of line but at the same time she was the life of the party! Grandma Jon and I would play Rummy till all hours of the night - while telling us story's of her life and how Grate Grandma Mildred always cheated when they played... what I'm trying to say is that she was an amazing lady!

Grandma Annie ... aside from my mom, was my biggest fan:) she saw my first play in the backyard of my baby sitters house in Snohomish WA ... I had this terribly dramatic death scene ... needless to say we all got a standing ovation! All of my talent came from my mom... who got all her talent from Grandma!!! :)

I have no clue what she's doing here ... I know it's a pic from a play she did in High School... but just for the sake of it lets say she was staring in Evita:)

The cast is in Battle Creek MI, performing at the Kellogg Arena. The Producers let me miss two show so I could be with my family... Thank you!! Her funeral is on Thursday. Please say a prayer or send me some good energy that day, I'm singing a song called Finally Home, and I don't want to brake down in the middle of it! Thank you all - I love you.

Hey Grandma, I love you! Hope you're having fun up there!
